The City of Canton is hosting the Seventh Annual Tailwind Regional Balloon Fest. This event will open to the public on Friday, May 18 at 5 p.m. and Saturday, May 19 at 2 p.m. and it will be held on the west side of the First Monday Trade Days grounds. The balloon festival will showcase upwards of 35 balloons on both nights with a balloon launch on Friday at 7 p.m. A balloon glow is scheduled at 8:30 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday evening. The cost of admission is $10 per car, $20 for vans (8-15 people) and $50 for buses.

We’re expecting visitors from all around the state and balloon enthusiasts from all over the nation. There will be loads of free fun for the kids and don’t forget to look to the sky for the ReMax skydiving team! Of course there is also the Half Marathon/10k that will kick off Saturday morning. We hope everyone will come to Canton for a unique, fun-packed family outing.”
The Tailwind Regional Balloon Fest will include not only the balloon glow, but also live entertainment on Friday night by Breaking Southwest and an epic Battle of the Bands on Saturday. There will be a 5k Glow Run on Friday night, a Car Show on Saturday, kids fun zone, petting zoo, tethered balloon rides, train rides, hamster balls, a climbing wall, and great craft and food vendors on both days.
The Tailwind Regional Balloon Fest is hosted by the Canton Visitors Bureau with ReMax Landmark as the title sponsor. This festival is intended to promote tourism in Canton and surrounding areas. Come see all that Van Zandt County has to offer!
