Kiepersol is your legendary food, wine and spirits destination!

Kiepersol is a destination not to be missed when you’re in East Texas. Kiepersol produces estate-grown wines every year. What does that mean? It means that each and every bottle of Kiepersol wine is made with grapes only grown in their vineyard. Kiepersol has a 14,000 case annual production from their 63 acres including 16 varieties of white and red wine grapes. In 2017, they were awarded the Top Texas Winery by the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo International Wine Competition.

Kiepersol is passionately run by the sister-duo Marnelle and Velmay. Their father, Pierre de Wet, founded Kiepersol in 1998 and left a legacy of wine, spirits and food with love and service at it’s core. Pierre came to America in 1984 from South Africa. The name Kiepersol is a place in South Africa whose story is pretty interesting. During the 1900 Boer War, British soldiers were running from a lion through an open grass field toward a tree shouting, “Kiepersol, Kiepersol, Kiepersol.” The Boers then named the tree “Kiepersol.” Later they learned the soldiers were actually yelling, “we hope the tree will keep us all.” Today’s winery adopted the symbolism of the Kiepersol tree in hopes that everyone who visits will find some type of comfort.

Additionally, Kiepersol started distilling spirits in 2012 and now shares award-winning Texas-based Dirks Vodka, Pierre’s Rum and Jimmy’s Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Click here for the tour and tasting hours.
