All Aboard The Texas State Railroad

In the heart of East Texas, there’s a pack of vintage steam and diesel locomotives ready to take you across a Piney Woods Route between Palestine and Rusk on a 50-mile round trip adventure.

Since the 1970’s, the Texas State Railroad has provided a unique experience nestled within East Texas that’s fun for the entire family, a date night, or just a chance to sit back and relax.

The entire trip takes around 4 hours as you travel round trip from one depot to the other. The railroad offers seats ranging from open-air benches in coach to over-sized seats in presidential class. There’s also an option to rent the entire caboose for a party, or ride along in the steam engine between the engineer and the brakeman. The train fare varies depending on where you’d like to sit.
