Hey guys, it’s Kendyl here with The East Texas Weekend.
My dad’s birthday is the day after Christmas, and every year he would request his favorite cake: German Chocolate. Typical German Chocolate cake is made with nuts, and since me and my brother are allergic to nuts we could never have a piece of my dad’s cake (great for him, sad for us!)
So almost 20 years ago my family started making a German Chocolate Pound Cake…without nuts! We love it! We make this cake multiple times a year, and always bake a couple dozen during the holidays and wrap them up as gifts for friends, family and neighbors. They’re always a huge hit!
So, I decided to share the cake recipe with all of you, and in the YEARS I’ve been making this it’s NEVER gone wrong…until I filmed it. (watch the Facebook post below to see what I mean)
So, despite my utter baking fail, here’s how you can make your own German Chocolate Pound Cake:

What to do:
Also, feel free to make me feel better. Do you have any baking fails? I’d love to hear about them!
