The East Texas State Fair is a giant festival that brings in people from all over the nation for more than a week filled with fun. Whether it’s carnival rides, fair food, or the exhibits, there’s something for everybody to do.

One show in particular brings in individuals and families from all parts of Texas, and beyond, and that’s the Livestock Show.

Each year the East Texas State Fair invites people from third grade up to seniors in high school to participate in their Junior Heifer Show, and while many people participate, few outside of the Livestock circle know exactly how much works goes on behind the scenes to get a heifer ‘show-ready.’

So here at The East Texas Weekend we decided to find out.

Audrey Nolan was born into a family of Hereford Breeders, so you could say it’s in her blood to show. She follows in both of her older sisters foot-steps and travels across the United States to show her Hereford’s.

At the 2019 East Texas State Fair, Audrey was not only the Texas Hereford Queen, but she also ended up taking home Reserve Grand Champion for Hereford Heifers!
