Fall is the time to winterize your lawn

Fall is the time to winterize your lawn (Kendyl Turner)

We’re heading into the winter months, so you’ll want to take all the steps to make sure your lawn remains in it’s best shape. So how do you do that? By winterizing your lawn. It may sound intimidating, but it’s actually a pretty simple concept that only takes a few steps.

Randy Reeves, Lawn & Garden Specialist at Jake’s Feed in Longview, says that winterizing your lawn includes fertilizer as well as Lime application.

“Concentrate on that last number on the fertilizer bag, which is potash,” said Reeves. “That’ll help [the] roots store up carbohydrates for winter, and you’ll tell a big difference come next spring.”

If you have any other questions regarding your lawn, the team at Jake’s Feed can help.

Jake’s Feed is located at 3612 McCann Road in Longview.
