Here are some fun facts about Wesley Pruitt Jr.:
- I’ve been around some type of music all of my life. My Dad at an early age introduced me to BB King, Waylon Jennings, Elmore James and George Jones. My Mom was always listening to Mahalia Jackson, Whitney Houston and Shirley Ceasar.
- My first instrument was drums. I recently picked those up and got pretty solid a few years ago.
- I started playing guitar Christmas Day of 1997. I was playing professionally by 1999.
- The Wesley Pruitt Band was established in 2001.
- I’ve been in some very professional fields of work but by 2005 I decided to give it all up, moved back home and haven’t looked back since.
- The road has been very rough and I’ve learned so much along the way. There has been a lot of great success as well. The Wesley Pruitt Band has a total of 2 full albums and 4 total albums if that makes since.
- Our most recent album Line’m Up is 8 years old. Our single off that album was “PoorcMan Blues.” I believe it charted out at #39 on the Tx Charts. That was done without a radio promoter.
- Our next album was supposed to be released this past June. We will have at least 2 singles from it. It’s about 65% done and it’s already hitting all of the right spots. This album will be a mixture of my own originals like always but a few more covers than I would normally put on an album. The reason of this is because the album is a real legit story of all of my life since 2012. It will do what it’s supposed to do. No stress at all. I’m just thankful to be able to talk about all of the happy times, heartache, tragedy, lost, and surviving through it all growing into a better person.
