Come out and join us for a night paddle under a full moon. Meet at the boat ramp area with your canoe or kayak. We will loan you a canoe, but it is first come first serve. Make sure to bring your whistle, a white light on a small pole, and life jacket. *All equipment excluding whistles will be provided for those borrowing a canoe.*

Back by popular demand! This is the last Beginner Beekeeping Class of the spring season! Bee the first to hear the buzz… we are in the process of making Plants of Texas your local one stop bee shop. Come learn all about it! This class will cover beginner beekeeper basic knowledge and much more. We will have a bee expert conducting this class. This class will cover PPE and safety, the hive components and tools needed, what’s inside a hive, comb, propolis, worker bees, drones, and queens. You will also have the opportunity to purchase a nuc and beebox at this class (to be picked up at a later date). Plants of Texas is excited to make all your bee dreams come true in one stop. This class will be the bee’s knees! The class fee is $25 and we will be at the tent in Tyler.

Wings Over Pegasus Airshow returns for 2022! Join us for our annual aviation extravaganza. The Pegasus Project Horse Rescue’s beautiful 95 acre ranch opens to the public just a few days a year. On April 16th, it transforms a small grass runway into an amazing, intimate airshow with incredible performers! This is a family friendly event! Pegasus horses, an Easter egg hunt, gourmet food trucks, airplanes, skydivers and an amazing airshow! Bring a lawn chair and spend the day!

Community Easter Egg Hunt

The Athens Municipal Airport will be hosting a Spring Fling Fly-in and Open House on April 16th, 2022, from 10am to 4pm. The event is open to the general public so come out and see the numerous vendors from the locally sourced Athens Farmers Market and enjoy BBQ from Casey’s BBQ and Tacos from Tacos Perez! Plane rides and introductory flying lessons will be available from SkyShool of East Texas and SeaRey Adventures. We will have ample seating, restrooms, free parking and free admission. Fishing with a Ranger- Kid Fish

Bring your kids out to fish with our rangers and volunteers at the fishing pier in the day use area. We will be available to help with removing fish and baiting hooks. All equipment and worm bait will be provided. We can show you the ropes if you’ve never fished before, or if you’re experienced you can borrow a rod and some worms and enjoy an afternoon of fishing.
