The Running of the Blueberries registration open for runners and their four-legged friends

The Running of the Blueberries, presented by Pilgrim’s Nacogdoches, is open to fun run enthusiasts and their furry running buddies on Saturday, June 11.

Routes include 5K, 10K, 1 mile and virtual options, and the run is one of the events at the 32nd Annual Texas Blueberry Festival presented by Tipton Ford.

“The 5K and 10K routes are on the beautifully wooded and shaded Lanana Creek Trail in Nacogdoches,” said event organizer Kinnie Reina. “Families, children and dog walkers looking for a gentler course will want to check out the event’s one-mile route that loops around the Clint Dempsey Soccer Complex.”

Runners of all experience levels are invited to participate in the chip-timed 5K and 10K. Dog owners are invited to walk or run with their leashed furry companions and register your pet for the run to receive a logoed bandana.

Participants are provided with a high-quality performance t-shirt. Youth and ladies’ sizes are available to those who register by May 31. T-shirt sizes are not guaranteed to those who register after May 31, after that t-shirts are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

“The virtual option gives those who can’t make it in for the Texas Blueberry Festival a chance to participate with us anywhere, anytime,” Reina said. “Run or walk on your own time and on your own course and submit your results online. Download your digital bibs and participants will receive a performance race shirt and participant medal.”
