When it comes to exercising, getting started can seem daunting, scary, or downright frightening. BUT they do have the place for you to let go of those inhibitions and work your body! Rise and Fly Fitness, in Sulphur Springs, has a unique way to help you work those muscles without worry.
“It’s accessible for most people,” said fitness coach Laura Dunn. “If you have any kind of alignment issues, there’s always modifications. You just get that little bit of support.”
Rise and Fly Fitness brings bungee fitness to East Texas, and has multiple classes to help women, and children, stretch and strengthen their bodies.
For those looking to get to a higher level of fitness, bungee fitness provides a safe environment that helps take the load off of your body to make doing strenuous moves much easier, such as push-ups, squats, and lunges.
“I, myself, have weak knees from dancing, and those things hurt me,” said Dunn. “But on the bungee cord, because it takes a good partial weight, you are able to do those things.”
Rise and Fly Fitness holds classes for people of all ability, with multiple bungee classes available, as well as Aerial Yoga, Adult Silks, and Adult Lyra classes. There is also a course for kids, from ages 5-17 to start exercising early and building strength and flexibility.
“A lot of people don’t expect it to be such a good work out,” said Dunn. “But you can expect, definitely, a lot of nerves on the first class, but as you grow and you come week by week, you get to fly around, you get to have a lot of fun. We have some really dedicated students who have been coming since we opened.”
Dunn, a professional dancer and former circus performer, has been coaching aerial arts for multiple years and performs aerial arts locally.
Rise and Fly Fitness can be located at 214 Tomlinson St., Sulphur Springs, TX 75482, in a shared studio space with Rockbarre Studio.
