The Jungle Books Kids

The Jungle Book KIDS” is based on the novel “The Jungle Book” by Rudyard Kipling and the beloved Disney film by the same name. In the children’s stage version, audiences will enjoy watching Mowgli, Baloo, King Louie and the gang as they swing their way through madcap adventures, singing along with favorite tunes, including “The Bare Necessities” and “I Wan’na Be Like You.”

Beer + Yoga

Beer & yoga? The perfect combo! Come have fun and get loose in this session instructed by Claire Henson. Must be 21+ years old. Beer will be provided by our neighbors at The Brewery!

Voices of Local Longview

Come listen and learn about Longview’s rich history at our brand new Genealogy series: Voices of Local Longview (just in time for Adult Summer Reading Club)!

Each session will feature a different speaker who will tell us about Longview and East Texas history through their own stories and experiences.

The Jungle Books Kids

Rose City Airfest

CampV and the Historic Aviation Memorial Museum (HAMM) are kicking off 4th of July celebrations with the Rose City Airfest on Friday, July 1 at Tyler Pounds Regional Airport.

WWII Warbirds will soar and roar into HAMM at 150 Airport Blvd. in Tyler for the second year. Performers will include Randy Ball’s Russian MiG17, a variety of vintage warbird planes and demo teams for the A-10 Thunderbolt, P51 Mustang, and the Aeroshell Aerobatic Team plus more. The featured performer will be a B-29 Superfortress “Doc,” one of only two B-29s still flying in the U.S.

Movie at the Library - Ghostbusters: Afterlife

Magnificent Warbird Expo

Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation presents WW II Warbirds at Historic Aviation Memorial Museum, July 2 - 3 2022. Aircraft scheduled to offer rides are: DOC, Devil Dog and 23 will all be selling rides during this once in a lifetime weekend.

LIVE MUSIC: Concert on the Lake 2022

  • Where: Lake Bob Sandlin

Concert on the Lake 2022, returns to Lake Bob Sandlin SATURDAY, July 2nd, 2PM to 6PM. This year’s performing artists are Cole Scoggins, Ricky Lynn Gregg, Dexter Rowe, and Pauline Reese. Last year we had 110 boats for the concert. We expect even more this year. Every place in the cove is a great location to anchor. There’s shallow water to stand in along the shoreline, including in front of the boathouse stage.

July 4th Cookie Decorating Class

  • When: 6:00 PM
  • Where: Rose Cottage Bakery, Big Sandy
  • Cost: $20

Includes cookies and everything to decorate and take your finished cookies home.

Thunder Over Cedar Creek Lake

  • When: 6:00 PM - 9:30 PM
  • Where: Cedar Creek Lake, Mabank
  • Cost: Free

Head to the Lake this Fourth of July weekend for a spectacular air show that will thrill you with high-energy aerobatics and an up-close experience with the power of fighter jets, both civilian and military.

We’re proud to welcome the A-10C Thunderbolt II Demonstration Team along with an Air Force Heritage Flight with the iconic P-51 Mustang. If you love warbirds, you’ll see one of only two flying historic B-29s, “Doc.” Another big bomber, “Devil Dog” a B-25 will also add some rumble to the skies over Cedar Creek Lake. Team Aeroshell will light up the sky as the sun begins to sink and show founder Randy Ball will dazzle everyone when his MiG-17 streaks by in afterburner.

The show is FREE thanks to generous donations and support from the Pinnacle Club. This event supports our local veterans through CampV, Navy-Marine Corps Relief, and Fisher House.

11th Annual Lake Athens Boat Parade

  • When: 7:00 PM
  • Where: Lake Athens
  • Cost: Free

Decorate your boat and join us for a 60-minute celebration ride around beautiful Lake Athens.

When: JULY 3rd - MEET at 7:00 P.M. and DEPART promptly at 7:15 P.M. (Finish by 8:15)

Smores Chat with a Park Host
