Yes, you read the headline correctly. “Shrek Rave” has been in cities like Los Angeles, New York City, Seattle, and Chicago, and now it’s coming to Texas!
The events started in March 2022, hosted by Jordan Craig, a Los Angeles based content creator, better known as “Ka5sh”. (The 5 is silent). The original LA event started as a way to raise funds for Craig’s sister who was robbed and shot in Fayetteville, North Carolina. 900 guests and $10,000 later, it was clearly a great success and people couldn’t wait for it to happen again.
“I feel like Shrek is the right amount of cringe, but also the right amount of nostalgia,” said Craig. “It’s dumb enough, but also still fun. There are not a lot of pop culture references that you can put the word ‘rave’ in that you’d want to attend.”
Costumes are welcome, so bring your onions and have a shrek-tastic time in the swamp!
