What’s in the Tajin Watermelon Margarita:

  • Ice
  • Watermelon (sliced)
  • Tajin
  • Sicilian Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur
  • Hornitos Silver Tequila
  • Cucumber Chili Agave Mix
  • Lime Juice
  • Triple Sec

The earliest claim to who invented the margarita goes to Carlos “Danny” Herrera, who owned Rancho La Gloria in Tijuana, Mexico, back in 1938. The claim is that Herrera created the margarita for dancer Marjorie King, who could only drink tequila, but didn’t enjoy it neat, so Herrera made an early mix with sale and lime juice to create a form of the margarita. As all claims go though, who knows who made the first drink, it could have come from the Irish when the Tequila Daisy started coming around, which is based off the brandy-based drink that dates back even further. Regardless of where it came from, it stays a common favorite and one that you can enjoy greatly at Cantina Laredo.
