Prepare for scares at Corpse Grove

To be scared, or not to be scared, that is the question. Luckily, we’ve also got the answer for you. Corpse Grove is bringing all the scares to East Texas with three different haunts in two cities!

Corpse Grove started in 2017 and provides an outdoor experience (for two of their haunts) that provides a unique charm from your typical haunted house. The Tyler location provides the two outdoor haunts, a twisting labyrinth called “Home for the Broken” that won’t let you leave so easily, or you can go through the 1/2 mile haunt in the woods that is “Corpse Grove: Wicked Playground” and as owner George Jones tells us, “It’s the longest haunt in East Texas”. Over in Mineola, you can expect an indoor haunt that’s new for 2022 called the “Annex of Terror”.

“I love being here because of the people, the people make it all worthwhile,” said Jones. “When they come in and they’re happy and when they leave they’re ‘Oh my gosh, that was so great’ and they’ve been scared, I’ve done my job and I know they’ve had a good night and they’ll remember it.”

With Halloween almost upon us, make sure that you give all the haunts a try and see which you enjoy best before they’re gone! Keep your eyes on Corpse Grove in the future though, as Jones tells us they’re planning on moving to an even larger location and becoming what could be called a “Halloween Playground”.

“Even through the darkness a voice can be heard. Soft...yet deadly, the voice is heard. If you survive the dead woman’s call, you won’t live very long at all.” - Proverb of the Dead

Beyond the haunts, you can also enjoy vendors selling a wide selection of goods, especially Halloween crafts, and includes a card reader, the Reading Raven, to add to your experience. “We’ll have a fire going, once it gets colder, you can sit around and roast marshmallows with us,” said Jones.

The Tyler haunts are located at 15972 Texas Hwy 64 East Tyler, TX 75707, while the Mineola haunt is at 119 North Johnson Street Mineola, TX 75773.

All the haunts are open Fridays & Saturdays from 7:30 PM to Midnight, Sundays from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM, and Halloween Night from 7:00 PM to Midnight, or as long as people keep enjoying the haunts!
