Let your hearts be merry and bright with this holiday light destination

Explore Piney Park Trail of Lights this December

East Texas has no shortage of new things to do, and that includes new attractions for the holidays!

Piney Park kicked off in 2021 with their first Trail of Lights experience and it has only grown since opening in East Texas. The obvious draws are the family attractions and lights you can enjoy right out of the gate, with the Piney Peek slide, a gigantic light maze, multiple jumbo jumpers, cannon blasters, a cow train, and the game zone to relax and play together. That’s a lot of excitement and doesn’t cost anything extra to enjoy all you want during your visit!

More than just activities, there are many photo opportunities waiting around every corner. It’s become such a photo destination, that within the first season alone, there were 4 proposals and it quickly became a date night hotspot.

We had one proposal where he lost the ring in the water. It fell out of the box on the bridge. She said yes though... and then got another ring.

For a calmer adventure, take a stroll through the half-mile trail of lights, with a special quest available once you cross the pond. (Hint: Keep your eyes peeled for those reindeer!) You’ll go through many different dazzling light displays and even enjoy a hot cocoa break at the halfway point.

When it comes to food, there’s no better place to be, between all the food truck options (and that hot cocoa stop mentioned above) you won’t be worried about who’s cooking when you get home. You can expect options like Davis Catfish Grill, Dough Boy Pizza, Funnel Cake Playground, and more!

Do make sure to keep your eyes peeled for Santa while exploring the grounds, he is usually found at the gift shop where photos can be taken either for free on your own device or by the professional photographer on site for a small fee.

Before the kids get out of the car, you can hear them start screaming, 'there's Santa, there's Santa!' And parents trying to corral them. The actual happiness that comes when the kids get here, that's the best part.
