Nacogdoches is home to a hidden gem that’s a must visit destination for wine lovers and those looking for a peaceful escape from the hustle & bustle of city life. Naca Valley Vineyard is a stunning winery that offers a unique blend of fine wine, a welcoming atmosphere, and the perfect place to come together.

While the winery officially opened in 2017, and started making wine in 2016, the love for wine making goes back much further. Buzz Mouton, the vintner and one of the owners, starting making wine while a teenager and now routinely wins awards for the wine produced at Naca Valley, including top wins from the statewide Texas Wine and Grape Growers Association competition, the Rodeo Uncorked! International Wine Competition, and the former wine contests at the Texas Blueberry Festival in Nacogdoches.

The winery dream came together when Buzz, his wife Wanda Mouton, their son Scott Mouton, and Scott’s wife Chelsea Mouton opened up the tasting room, where at first only around a dozen could come in and enjoy. Over the years that has expanded into the much more open and outdoor experience that you now see.

“We’ve expanded the production room once and now we are actually building a whole new production facility because we’ve completely outgrown our current wine tank space,” said Chelsea.

Regardless of the temperature, the winery provides a cozy place to relax with the main screened in pavilion with heaters, firepit tables, firepits themselves, and a zip up canopy. Whether you’re a seasoned wine connoisseur or just looking for a relaxing day out, Naca Valley Vineyard is the perfect destination.

More than only wine, you can enjoy a woodfire pizza from Andy’s Cookery and Catering that’s located right there in the pavilion. There’s very little that can beat a fine wine, hot pizza, and some live music while you sit outside enjoying the night air and a starry sky in East Texas. Each Saturday night, you can expect to join some tunes in the pavilion from local artists, usually starting at 5:30 pm.

“It’s very family friendly. All of our live music provides a clean and family friendly environment,” said Chelsea. “We are also pet friendly, as long as the pet is on a leash.”

Naca Valley Vineyard is open Thursdays & Fridays from 5:00-9:00 PM & Saturdays from Noon-9:00 PM. They are located at 9897 FM 1878 in Nacogdoches.
