Larry Greer Guitar Recital

Where: Cole Concert Hall, Nacogdoches

Larry Greer, adjunct faculty instructor of guitar at Stephen F. Austin State University, will present a faculty recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 2, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus.

The program will feature a mix of classical, pop and jazz music for guitar. Greer will be joined by guest artists Karen Greer, Dr. Christina Guenther, Dr. Brad Meyer, Dr. J.D. Salas and Dr. Ben Morris.

Trinity Irish Dance Company

Zonta Antique Show

Where: Maude Cobb Convention Center, Longview

Over 50 exhibitors from numerous states will bring beautiful antiques to fill Maude Cobb. The Zonta Tea Room and Pie Bar will be waiting on you with great food and the most delicious pies!

Admission is $10 and is good all weekend! Parking is free! The funds raised from this event support non-profit organizations that support the needs of women and children.

Beads & Bling Karnival

When: 3:00 PM
Where: Tiki Hut Tanning Salon & Boutique, Hughes Springs
Cost: Free

Join us for our annual Mardi Gras Beads & Bling Karnival!! Eat, Drink & Shop with us!! Door prizes, mardi gras beads and free gift with purchase. Make it a evening in Hughes Springs, shop with us then head over to the Snack Shack to have some crawfish!!

SFA presents Skizz Cyzyk’s “Icepick to the Moon”

Where: The Cole Art Center, Nacogdoches

The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art and the Friends of the Visual Arts will present a free, one-night screening of “Icepick to the Moon,” written, edited and directed by Skizz Cyzyk. The screening is at 7 p.m. Friday, March 3, in The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House.

Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park

Where: Cherokee Civic Theatre, Rusk

Neil Simon’s rom-com about Corie and Paul, newlyweds still trying to figure out just how marriage works. After decorating their apartment, Corie decides to try her hand at matchmaking everyone she meets while Paul desperately strives to make a good impression at his new job with a prestigious law firm.

Needless to say, what can go wrong, goes hilariously wrong. Will true love survive? Will Paul win the big case? Will their neighbor ever stop using their bathroom window to avoid the landlord? Don’t miss this fun and educational event! Gregg County Master Gardener’s annual gardening seminar will be, Saturday, March 4th, 9 - 12 at the Longview Exhibit Hall. You will learn all about butterfly gardening from our keynote speaker, the “Texas Plant Guy”.

Daniel Cunningham’s presentation will deliver tips for creating butterfly habitats that include native and adapted plants that provide long lasting blooms as nectar sources. During intermission, Mary’s Heirloom Seeds will demonstrate how to create container gardens.

Justin Willman - Magic for Humans

Justin Willman wants to melt your brain while making you laugh. He’s best known as the star and creator of the hit Netflix series Magic For Humans. But you may recognize him from one of his many television appearances (The Tonight Show, The Today Show, Ellen, Conan...). Or maybe you know his work as a host (Baking Impossible; Cupcake Wars; Win, Lose or Draw...).

If you don’t know Justin, he’s a magician and comedian who’s mastered the art of turning cynics into believers (or at least getting them to laugh). His live show is simultaneously mind-blowing, hilarious, and will likely keep you up at night wondering how the heck any of it was possible.

Justin is also a proud father, a loving husband, and has zero experience as a licensed boat mechanic (that’s a different Justin Willman).
