Dr. Namjoo Oh Violin Recital

The concert program will feature Sonata for Piano and Violin No.21 in E minor, K. 304 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; Violin Sonata in A major, Op. 100 by Johannes Brahms; and Sonata in A major for Violin and Piano by César Franck.

Harper Lee’s ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ at Tyler Civic Theatre Center

Adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, To Kill a Mockingbird opens in a sleepy Alabama town in the midst of the Great Depression, where Scout and her brother, Jem, live with their widowed father, Atticus Finch. Reminiscent of a bygone era, the play immerses us in a simpler time as the children play outside in the summer, act out stories and muse about their mysterious neighbor, Boo Radley. The School of Music at Stephen F. Austin State University will present “Celleuphoria” featuring Dr. Evgeni Raychev at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 19, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus.

Raychev, cello instructor at SFA, will be joined on stage by colleagues Jennifer Dalmas, violin; Minhae Lee, piano; Melissa Nabb, viola; and Brad Mayer, percussion. Some of Raychev’s current and prospective cello students will also perform. The concert features compositions from the Baroque, Romantic and post-Romantic periods, as well as the 20th and 21st centuries.
