Historic Tyler, Inc. is hosting their annual fundraising event, Historic Tyler on Tour, during the Azalea Trails on April 1st and 2nd.

Visitors from all over are invited to experience some of Tyler’s treasured historic homes that embody the city’s charm. The tour features houses that are all within walking distance and located in The Charnwood Residential Historic District, the first historic district designated in Tyler.

Ashley Washmon, Executive Director for Historic Tyler, expressed her excitement for this year’s event, saying, “We have many historical treasures in Tyler, but these houses are particularly endearing. The Charnwood Residential Historic District contains one of Tyler’s largest and best-preserved concentrations of historic homes, built in response to increasing prosperity in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Each property featured on the tour has a rich history. I love driving by a house and knowing its story, and I am eager for the public to have that opportunity.”

The tour features five historic homes, and ticket holders will be able to go inside each of the homes. Tour tickets are $25 for Non-Members and $15 for Historic Tyler Members. Tickets can be purchased during the tour at The Historic Tyler Office, located at 714 S. Broadway Avenue, or 630 S. Fannin Avenue OR you can purchase tickets online here.

Historic Tyler on Tour is an opportunity for the public to peek inside prominent historic homes in Tyler and satisfy their curiosity about what they look like inside. The event is sure to attract history enthusiasts and those who appreciate the unique charm of Tyler’s historic homes. For more information, visit www.historictyler.org or call 903-595-1960.
