2023 Longview PRCA Rodeo

The Longview Greggton Rotary Club is proud to present the 32nd Annual Longview PRCA Rodeo, a two-day event taking place on April 21 and 22 at the Longview Fairground Rodeo Arena.

The rodeo is set to feature a variety of thrilling events, including bull riding, bronc riding, team roping, calf roping, barrel racing, mutton busting, and boot scramble events for the kids. The event promises to provide action-packed entertainment for both children and adults.

On Friday, April 21, the rodeo is offering a special “Free Child Night” that allows one child per adult to enter for free with the purchase of an adult ticket and three canned goods, with the canned goods benefiting the Hiway Rescue Mission. On Saturday, April 22, the theme is “Tough Enough to Wear Pink?” in support of breast cancer awareness, sponsored by Texas Oncology in Longview.

In addition to the exciting rodeo events, attendees can enjoy food from various food trucks, classic fair foods, and specialty cuisine. Those who come early can browse the vendor booths featuring custom rodeo apparel, jewelry, crafts, and kids’ toys. Children can enjoy a petting zoo and rides on a gentle giant Ankole-Watusi bull.

This year, the Longview PRCA Rodeo will have NFR Clown and Barrelman of the Year, John Harrison, to entertain the audience. Harrison has won Comedy Act of the Year for the 7th time, Coors Man in the Can for the 6th time, and for the first time in 2022, NFR Clown of the Year.

Along with Harrison, legendary Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Famer Sammy Andrews will serve as the official Rodeo stock contractor. He and his famous bucking bull world champion, Bodacious, share the coveted honor of being inducted into the elite organization reserved for rodeo’s best. Andrews was also named the 2002 Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Stock Contractor of the Year.

The Longview Rodeo serves as a fundraiser for the Longview Greggton Rotary Club, which is committed to supporting Youth, Family, and Community Programs. All rodeo proceeds are reinvested into local non-profit programs, scholarships, and facilities. The Rotary Club has contributed more than $1,000,000 in local non-profit supported programs and initiatives.

The gates open at 6:00 p.m., and the rodeo is set to start around 7:30 p.m. Adult tickets can be purchased in advance at all East Texas area ABC Autoparts Stores, Cavender’s in Longview, and BootBarn in Longview. Additionally, tickets are available online right here. Tickets are also available at the gate when you arrive.
