When it comes to healthy living off the land, you don’t have to start jarring your own food to enjoy some fresh from the farm treats!
Located in Winnsboro, Pyke’s Pantry provides a healthy place to eat, with a bistro that’s serving up homestyle foods with fresh ingredients, and a store that’s chock full of locally made products, from salsa to jams, and even soaps and lotions among many MANY others.
“We’re very full of joy just being here and happy to be doing this. And hopefully it comes through and our products and the quality of what we’re trying to give to people,” said Pyke Samson, the namesake of Pyke’s Pantry. Stefanie Samson added, “Everybody in this community has been so supportive. They’re just such beautiful people and they’re so willing to help. There’s been so much love and support.”
Husband and wife team Pyke & Stefanie Samson started it all in 2022, with a goal of creating natural, healthy meals for their loved ones and own lives, which expanded on to markets and eventually a full store & restaurant combo, with an online store to boot!
Landing in Winnsboro actually started as a fluke when the Samsons were headed to Sulphur Springs and Stefanie was stung by a wasp of all things while stopping for a photo along the way. “We get back in the car and we start to head out and we both turn to each other at the same time to say, ‘Well, I guess that’s a sign we’re never to come back to Winnsboro,’” Stefanie told us. “I felt we fell in love with Sulphur Springs. We ended up staying there for about five days, but every time we would come out, we would just find ourselves back here in Winnsboro. We fell in love with it.”

Originally, when the Samsons were searching for a place to move, it was meant to find a place to retire and relax, but there’s no retirement here! In the last few years, it all began with canning meats and applesauce in a healthier way.
“I love salsa Verde. I can never find one that I really love. So, I asked him to make me some, and he did. We would take it over to my sister’s house or friend’s house and they were all like, ‘You guys have got to sell this,’” said Stefanie.
From there, they were selling at markets, adding products, and by 2022, they had fully moved from California to Winnsboro and started up a store front where you can check out all the products for yourself.
