We’re doing a casual (NO ONE left behind) 8-11 mph ride for 15 miles. It’ll take about 2 hours.
If you would like to come but the distance scares you, we would be more than happy to shorten our ride! Just let us know! Someone will stay with you the whole time.
We stay primarily on established city bicycle routes or roads with large safe shoulders. The few connecting streets we’ll use are low traffic.
The group will be meeting at the SW corner of Bergfeld Park near the bicycle repair station.

UAARC 2023 Field Day

The Upshur Area Amateur Radio Club (UAARC) will be participating in the annual ARRL Field Day this year. Field Day is the largest Amateur Radio on-the-air event held in the US and is a chance for HAM’s to practice emergency communications, meet new people, and just have fun! The event will be held in Upshur County off of FM 1972 near Diana. On June 24th, there will be a large sign at the event site as well as signs at the intersections of FM 1649/FM 1972 and FM 726/FM 1972 with specific location information. The event runs for 24 hours and we will start operating at 1:00pm (18:00 UTC) on Saturday, June 24th. Licensed amateur radio operators and anyone interested in the hobby are encouraged to stop by and visit with us or even get on the air and make some contacts! Zombie Apocalypse Hike at Tyler State Park

BeardFest Benefit Concert

On Sunday, June 25th, from 3pm - 9pm, a benefit concert will be held here on The Back Porch Stage with the bands, Dagnabbit, TEAZUR, Darrin Morris Band, Lee Mathis, & PLUSH to raise money for the family of Johnny Griffith. The Cover Charge is $20 which will go directly to Johnny’s family to help with medical bills & other expenses.
