America’s first glow-in-the-dark park is coming to Texas! An 18,000-square-foot park is going to light up North Texas as Farmer’s Branch will be the home of ‘Joya at Oran Good Park’, which is expected to be completed during the fall of 2023.
Joya, which means “Jewel” in Spanish, will be the first-of-its-kind, all-accessible, glow-in-the-dark playground in the United States. The playground is going to feature a 27-foot futuristic sphere where children can climb inside, a zip line, a spin zone, glow seating, swings, and an obstacle course - all lit with colorful LED lighting. While it can be enjoyed during the daytime, it’s truly meant for when the sun goes down when the park will come alive with interactive features that glow.
“It is so exciting to begin construction on a first-class, all-accessible playground like Joya at Oran Good Park, a public space that kids and families of all ages and abilities will enjoy year-round,” said City of Farmers Branch Deputy City Manager Mike Mashburn. “We are looking forward to the grand opening of Joya, our city’s crown jewel, bringing to life the fun and joy that comes from a one-of-a-kind facility like this.”
The park will be located at 13300 Dennis Lane in Farmer’s Branch, TX, and will definitely be a sight to see as Texas brings this unique park to the Lone Star State.
