Free Community Run Clinic

Beginner Beekeeping Class

  • When: 8:30am
  • Where: 116 S. Beckham, Tyler
  • Cost: $25 (Free for students.)

“In this class you will learn the basics of beekeeping. We will cover PPE, tools needed, hive placement. You will also learn what’s in the hive, comb, worker bees, drones, the queen, and much more. You will also have the opportunity to purchase everything needed for beekeeping, including nuc’s. We will provide coffee and doughnuts.”

First Saturday Hike @ Tyler State Park

  • When: 9am
  • Where: Tyler State Park
  • Cost: $6

“This is a group led hike and not organized by a specific person. As a group, we’ll decide which trail(s) to hike. Use the comments section to discuss the hike with other members of the group. As a reminder, there is a $6.00 park entry fee, unless you have a state park annual pass. We suggest arriving at the park no later than 8:45 to allow time to go through the gates, register and pay. As usual, please make sure you bring plenty of water, bug repellent and sunscreen. Dogs, on leash are welcome. Please clean up after your pets.”

Beginner Beekeeping Class

“This class will cover beginner beekeeper basic knowledge and much more. This class will cover PPE and safety, the hive components and tools needed, what’s inside a hive, development times and stages of honeybees, a getting started check list, and much more. You will also have the opportunity to purchase a nuc and beebox at this class (to be picked up at a later date). Plants of Texas is excited to make all your bee dreams come true in one stop.This class will be the bee’s knees! The class fee is $30. This class will be held at the NEW Plants of Texas location in Flint. This class will NOT be held at the tent.The class will take place in the smaller building (receiving dock) behind the main/large building you see from the road. Please park in the front of the main building and follow the sidewalk around to the back. You will see a smaller metal building in the back of the property. Head on in and take a seat!”

Saturdays on Main

“Saturdays on Main is a family friendly event held on the first Saturday of each month to feature all the fun things to see and do in the 44 blocks of the Palestine Main Street District in downtown Palestine, Texas. Dino Love - Cookie Decorating
