Have you ever wanted to try your hand at shaping pottery? Well, here is your chance! Muddy Pants Pottery in Nacogdoches offers a variety of classes and studio space to mold bowls, vases, or anything you can imagine!

Cindy Glad, along with her husband, Davis, and son, Red, have recently opened up shop here in East Texas. With years of experience, this dynamic trio will help you have the best experience possible when you come to visit.

Whether you’re a sculpting pro or have never touched clay in your life, Muddy Pants Pottery is the place for you. If you are familiar with the pottery building process, there are studio memberships available so that you can pop-in and work on your own pieces throughout the week. But if you’re a beginner and want to get your feet wet, (or in this case your hands) Muddy Pants has tons of classes available for there two main attractions, the pottery wheel and hand-building.

POTTERY WHEEL

One comment Cindy hears all of the time is, “I’ve always wanted to try this.” Muddy Pants Pottery invites you to try something brand new! Plop down your clay, crank up the wheel’s speed, and get to shaping. During our visit we got to sit in on a class and learn how its all done. It can be intimidating at first, but Cindy and the team are there to guide you to success! Design and mold various pounds of clay, then select a color. Once its been baked in the kiln, the team will let you know when you can come pick up your beautiful piece.

Cindy is an experienced and fun teacher, that allows for just an all around good time. Get messy and have a blast as you create your very own works of art. There are a handful of pottery wheel classes to choose from. Maybe your looking for a Date Night or Small Group Activity, they’ve got a class for that. Or maybe you want to REALLY want get into this hobby, they have a longer course for that, as well.

HAND-BUILDING

On the other side of the studio, Muddy Pants Pottery has many work stations and pottery shaping tools. Here you can hand-build with the provided clay into anything you can come up with. Let your creative juices flow! We saw many guests’ awesome creations like fairy houses, roaring eagles, and a giant Snoopy head.

Want to learn how to make some really cool sculptures? Try out one of Muddy Pants Pottery’s hand-building courses. They are always creating fun things like ceramic bobble heads and other unique works! Open studio sessions are available too if you’d like to go and create your own personally inspired pieces.

Muddy Pants Pottery is passionate about building community. Though they are new to the neighborhood, they are quickly building a welcoming and creative culture of all ages in Nacogdoches.
