Love’s Lookout
While traveling back and forth from Tyler to Jacksonville, there is a special rest stop that you may notice that veers off of Hwy 69.
Turn on the black-top exit to Old Hwy 69 that’ll take you up the gradual hill, revealing the iconic Love’s Lookout.
At an elevation of 720ft above sea level, this spot offers a gaze above the surrounding terrain that you can’t often get here in East Texas.

The facilities and grounds are very clean, with tons of great seating for picnics or just to admiring the landscape.
Feel yourself relieved of your travels as you enjoy the beauty of East Texas. Truly a refreshing pit stop.
When you get ready to get back on the road, be sure to look up at the exit to view the 125ft fire tower. One of the last standing fire towers built by the Texas Forest Service back in the 1930′s.
