What’s not to love about cats? These cute fluffballs are arguably the most cuddly and spunky critters on the planet.
We at The East Texas Weekend adore these lovable pets, and so does the incredible local non-profit organization, O’Malley Alley Cat Rescue!
O’Malley’s mission is to rescue, rehome, and provide critical needs for cats in and around the Tyler, TX area.
Over the years, O’Malley Alley Cat Rescue has become a local favorite. So much so that they were awarded as Champion of our 2024 Non-Profit Knockout!
ADOPTION & FOSTERING
Establishing a permanent home for cats is at the heart of O’Malley Alley Cat Rescue.

Their Adoption Process is the primary way they make this happen. With currently over 70+ cats available, O’Malley has quite a huge variety of kitties, all colors and sizes, awaiting a caring home. Each of their cats can be viewed here!
Fostering is also a great way to help a kitty become comfortable living in a stable home. By providing a foster home, you are helping cats get used to people and possibly other pets. This helps set them up for success when they’re adopted.
THE CAT LOUNGE
One amazing aspect of O’Malley is their incredible Cat Lounge!
This two-story building is essential a huge foster house for kitties, as they await their forever home.
Inside, the large group of cats are uncaged, have plenty of obstacles to climb, and quickly learn social skills among other cats and people.

HOW TO SUPPORT
With no paid staff here at O’Malley, this non-profit’s motivation comes solely from a love for cats.
They rely completely on donations, fundraising, and volunteers to accomplish their rescues and vetting.
