Frankston Artesian Well
Right off Hwy 175, in between Frankston and Jacksonville, lies a mountainous rest stop with a tiny, unique water feature.
With not great signage and tucked away in the piney woods, this little destination can easily be missed.
Yet, the Frankston Artesian Well is a neat little feature that any East Texas explorer will want to visit.
According to locals, families and travelers have frequented this little pitstop for generations. Filling up water bottles, jugs, and even vehicle radiators from the somewhat limitless supply of natural spring water.
At the bottom of the hill, you will notice a constant small stream flowing from a convenient spigot. Although many sources claim the water is clean, we could not find any hard data. So as always, drink at your own risk.

What was really impressive is that during our visit it was around 20 degrees outside. And while many surrounding creeks and other wetland areas were frozen solid, this little well kept a steady current.
Way to go little guy!
