Such things seem so mysterious, or even fantasy at times.
But what if we told you can behold a wonderfully preserved stockpile of these ancient relics and unique keepsakes up close and personal this weekend!
At the Naranjo Museum of Natural History, named after paleontologist and archeologist Dr. Neal Naranjo, walk through the many time periods of man and Earth.
Discover a “land before time” with flying pterodactyls, grazing triceratops and a whole host of dinosaur family. In this old world exhibit, admire REAL, complete fossils of all shapes and sizes. From frozen-in-time trilobites to the world’s oldest mineral and rock, there are all sorts of primordial reliquiae to see and interact with.

Fast-forwarding to the dawn of mankind, the Naranjo Museum holds display after display of tools, jewelry, a cultural significant items that tell the generational stories of humans throughout the recent millenniums. Some of our favorite relics we saw were mummy wrappings from Ancient Egypt, coinage from Julius Caesar-era Rome and stacks of buttons from Revolutionary War soldiers.
In a not so distant past, the museum also offers a magnificent exhibit honoring the Columbia Space Shuttle and it’s heroic astronauts, highlighting the ship’s recovery operation.
Speaking of space, there is even a chunk of the actual Moon! Recovered by the Apollo 14 landing mission.
Honestly, we have just covered the tip of the mammoth’s iceberg. There is simply so much to explore and learn about here.
The Naranjo Museum of Natural History offers an incredible educational experience, filled with awe and wonder. Families can enjoy many activities throughout the museum. Plus, a really cool gift shop so you can take your own dino home!
