Davy Crockett Spring
The East Texas Weekend Preview — In 1836, a group of friends settled in for the evening in Crockett, on their way to answer the volunteer call for aid at the Alamo.
Among this brave group was nonother than one of the most popular figures in Texas history. David Crockett!
Known for his unwavering commitment and likeable nature, Crockett would solidify himself as a folk hero following his death at the Battle of the Alamo. Later, he would be the prime influence for the naming of the city of Crockett!
Today, you can walk these same campgrounds as this company did, as well as take a drink from the very same natural spring. Now with a modern water fountain attachment. (Oh, what a luxury.)
Also on site, you can find the Strode-Pritchett Log Cabin.
