Rest for the Hard Worker

Chapel in the Pines Lone Star, TX

Chapel in the Pines

The East Texas Weekend Preview — Located right across the street from the Old Hughes Furnace and the Lone Star U.S. Steel plant lies a quaint, beautiful church in the midst of the tall pine trees.

Erected in 1955, this small chapel has offered a place of solitude to many locals and hard-working steel plant employees for generations.

Any day of the week, travelers are welcomed to walk right in and enjoy it’s peaceful scenery.

Inside you will find a slender walkway filled with tiny pews that lead you to a massive bible and some of the most stunning stained glass windows.

Outside is just as beautiful with its curtain of tall pines and a couple of statues honoring the faithful workers of the steel plant.
