The East Texas Weekend Preview — For Bobbie Hardy, owner of the massively impressive Gone With the Wind Museum, it is more than just fandom that drives her passion. Rather, it has become a point of connection between movie-goers, family members, Jefferson locals and the actual actors themselves!
Explore display after display of ultra rare memorabilia in this 1,700sqft space, all centered upon the movie and book of Gone With the Wind.
Whether you loved this Old South narrative, or have never even seen the movie, you will absolutely enjoy your visit.
Admire all sorts of super uncommon collector’s items like 100+ copies of the novel in foreign language editions, life size mannequins decked out in attire from movie scenes and autographs by many of the film’s major stars, including: Gable and Leigh, Olivia de Havilland, Leslie Howard, Hattie McDaniel, Butterfly McQueen, Ona Munson, Cammie King, and Mickey Kuhn. (Most of which Bobbie has personally met.)
One piece that we loved was the massive doll house that accurately depicts the home used in the film. Each room has been carefully decorated to resemble scenes from the movie, including the iconic discourse in the study where Scarlett meets Rhett. (You will even find a tiny broke vase!)
