Kaufman County Veterans Memorial Park
The East Texas Weekend Preview — East Texas is full of treasured parks that celebrate the honor and valor of locals who gave everything to ensure the freedoms that we all enjoy today.
And the Kaufman County Veterans Memorial Park is no different.
Explore and pay respect to the many granite monuments placed throughout the space. From World War I to the Berlin Crisis, this memorial park mentions many Kaufman County locals who served in these historic and recent conflicts. Each structure is absolutely beautiful, capturing your eyes and heart.
As you make your way to the back of the complex, you will meet two massive military vehicles. First is the tough and rugged Tank, kept in great condition with its cannon aimed high. Next is the fierce AH-1S/1F Bell Cobra. This attack helicopter would have been used in various engagements, especially in gunship teams.
At the end of the park, you will arrive to the extensive Vietnam Memorial Wall of Texas. This incredibly long structure includes the names of many East Texans who fought in the Vietnam War. From left to right, the wall will take you throughout the many years of locals who were involved in this conflict. An absolutely breathtaking monument to witness.
