The East Texas Weekend Preview — It’s no surprise why this East Texas ice cream shop took first place in our Weekend Wonders contest for favorite local sweet shop!
As soon as you walk into this downtown Lufkin storefront, you are met by a sweet wonderland that’s full of treats, family fun and nostalgia.
Enjoy a massive spread of ultra-creamy ice cream options, like delicious flavors of Yellow Cake Batter and Blueberry Burst.
Have it in a cup. Try it in a cone. Or if you’re really adventurous, order their Ice Cream Nachos! This comes with 3 scoops of your choice, decked out with 2 topping options. Plus, a stack of waffle chips for dipping.
We got to try the O-O-Oreo flavor, scooped into a fresh waffle cone that had been dipped in chocolate and colorful sprinkles. A most delightful combination.

Grab-a-bag and scoop! Explore row after row of candy displays. From every flavor imaginable of salt water taffy to all the sour gummies your taste buds can handle.
They also have tons of classic toys available for purchase too! (We totally bought a whoopie cushion during our visit.)
The cherry on top of this beloved shop has to be their massive outdoor hangout space. Run and play all day long on their huge turfed lawn. A central third-space to connect and relax in the heart of downtown Lufkin.
