Since 1996, the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center has welcomed guests from all across the planet to come admire the special fish that call this region home.
Stroll the stunning complex and admire massive aquariums that house beloved, local fish like bass, catfish, gar and so much more!
Our favorite fish here has to be the Paddlefish! According to Texas Parks and Wildlife, these creatures are the oldest surviving animal species in North America. See this magnificent fish yourself inside their huge outdoor tank.
Indoors, not only will you find even more beautiful fish, but also tons of historical achievements in the fishing world. Take a gander at the state-record bass and catfish that have been caught, as well as The Texas Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame wall.

Hop aboard the Ethel Express Hatchery Tour and discover why this destination is nicknamed, “the big bass capital of the world!” This neat tram will take you out near many acres of ponds that breed health bass and other fish that’ll be stocked all across the nation.
No visit to the TFFC is complete without casting a line yourself! Enjoy on-site fishing with the entire family. Rent some gear or bring your own and catch a variety of fish, including seasonal trout harvests in the colder months.
