The East Texas Weekend Preview — From now until the end of April, explore the vast countryside of Ennis, and surrounding communities, for a truly one-of-a-kind experience.
The Ennis Bluebonnet Trails are in full bloom with 40 miles of scenery to discover by car and on foot.
You can snag a free trail map at the Ennis Welcome Center located at: 201 NW Main, Ennis, TX 75119
The entire tour is made up of a North, South and West Trail. The Meadow View Nature Area is a must-stop along the trek. Here you can experience incredible, flowing hills of bluebonnets with a stunning lake background. Plus! There are tons of picnic tables for unforgettable family memories.
Our favorite spot along the trail has to be Holy’s Bluebonnet Field. Located along the South Trail, here you can get an up-close and personal view of one the most impressive bluebonnet sites in region. In some portions, the flower concentration is so tight that you can’t even see the green of the grass! Just beautiful royal blue. Chances are, you will even meet the owner, Sylvester Holy, who give you a great introduction of the field. If that all wasn’t convincing enough, there are even rare, white bluebonnets sprouting up around the land to check out!

To celebrate this floral masterpiece with the whole community, make a trip out for the city’s Ennis Bluebonnet Trails Festival on April 17th-April 19th. Family activities, unique vendors, plenty of delicious food and tons of live entertainment all centered around the Texas state flower.
Fill up your ride and embark on a full-on floral adventure this weekend!
