The East Texas Weekend Preview — 2025 was an all-star year for this downtown Nacogdoches restaurant.
Brendyn’s BBQ was named to the highly esteemed Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ Joints!
So naturally, we had to go check it out. And wow, were we impressed.
At lunchtime, the place was buzzing with hungry East Texans. Upon ordering, you got to watch as they sliced and chopped meats of your choosing.
We order the glorious Garebear! A wonderful conglomerate of brisket, pulled pork, sausage with pickle and onion. The best part is that the sandwich is dual-sauced with both of their Sweet and Carolina BBQ flavors. A totally epic combo!

Paired perfectly with our entrée were a couple of excellent, and unique, sides. Their White Cheddar Mac & Cheese and Jalapeno Cream Corn brought our lunch experience to a whole other level!
The atmosphere is full of life with plenty of spots to sit and relax as you enjoy some of best pit creations in East Texas.
During your visit to the oldest city in Texas, you just have to add a visit to this truly remarkable BBQ joint.
