2nd Annual Memorial Day Murph Event

• Where: Power Fit Bootcamp ETX, Van

Rebirth Performance, LLC and PowerFit Bootcamp ETX are hosting the 2nd Annual Murph Event to commemorate the Memorial Day Holiday. There will be three scalable events for all fitness abilities: The Full Murph, The Half Murph, and Mini Murph.

Memorial Day Flags Honoring Veterans

• Where: Athens, TX VFW -Post 7103-

Join us as we honor Veterans where they lay at cemeteries throughout Athens. Meet at Athens VFW so we can organize and disperse. Return to the post after setting out flags for a free lunch. Taps will be played at all cemeteries

250 Years of Freedom, 250 Years of Sacrifice

This annual Memorial Day Ceremony event reflects the community’s enduring commitment to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to defend our nation and to remember the families they left behind. Attendees are encouraged to join in recognizing our fallen heroes, pay tribute to their families and enjoy the camaraderie of the East Texas Veteran community. As we mark 250 Years of Freedom, we remember that liberty comes at a cost. This year’s theme,250 Years of Freedom, 250 Years of Sacrifice, honors the 1.4 million Service Members who died defending our nation, as well as the families and loved ones they left behind.

Slow-Ride Memorial Procession, Fish Fry & More

• When: 12pm-3pm
• Where: Lumberjack Harley-Davidson, Nacogdoches

On Memorial Day weekend, Lumberjack Harley-Davidson opens its doors to honor the men and women who gave everything so the rest of us could ride free. Join us Saturday, May 23rd from 12–3PM for our Memorial Day Fish Fry — a community gathering built around gratitude, remembrance and the East Texas tradition of coming together around a good meal. Slow-Ride Memorial Procession — a structured ride to kick off the afternoon in honor of the fallen. Memorial Wall — bring a photo or write the name of a servicemember you want remembered. Missing Man Table — a formal display honoring those who never came home.

Letters Home: A Memorial Day Fireworks Tribute

Letters Home: A Memorial Day Tribute is more than a fireworks show—it’s a story. Told through music, narration, and a choreographed display over the water, this year’s show follows a soldier’s letter home and honors the sacrifice behind the freedom we celebrate.

The Murph Challenge 2026

• When: 8am
• Where: APTx, Tyler

Join us on Monday, May 25th at 8:00 AM for the Memorial Day Murph Challenge — a workout dedicated to honoring the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. “Murph” is a legendary workout named after Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2005. Every Memorial Day, communities across the country come together to complete this challenge as a tribute to his sacrifice and the sacrifices of all fallen heroes.

This is more than a workout. It’s a time to come together, remember, and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. As a veteran, this day is personal, and it means something deeper than just showing up and sweating.

Camp Gladiator Memorial Day MURPH

Join Camp Gladiator for a powerful community workout honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Led by Veteran & CG Trainer Roy Davis. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or showing up for the challenge, EVERYONE is welcome.

Annual Memorial Day Murph

Join us this Memorial Day as we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedom through the annual Murph Hero Workout and fellowship together afterward. This is more than just a workout. It’s a time to remember, reflect, and stand together as a community.

Memorial Day Service

Hosted by the Wood County Veterans Memorial Committee, this ceremony is held in solemn remembrance of the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to the United States. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy each day, and this time is set aside to honor their legacy. Residents and visitors are encouraged to attend as we come together in gratitude, remembrance, and respect for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Gilmer Area Memorial Day Ceremony

• When: 10:30am-11:30am
• Where: Gilmer Civic Center

Gilmer area, you are invited to join our local veteran service organizations, the VFW, DAV, and American Legion as we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Ceremony will be at the Gilmer Civic center where we will pay tribute to fallen Heroes.

VFW Memorial Day Ceremony

• Where: VFW Post 8535, Henderson

Join us on May 25 at 1100 at the Rusk County VFW. We will be honoring those Service Members who gave their lives for our freedom. Lunch will be provided after the service.

Memorial Day Service

• Where: Tyler Memorial Funeral Home - Cemetery and Mausoleum

Please join us this Memorial Day as we honor the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation and our freedom. May we always remember their courage, service, and devotion.
