Trinket Trade & Tray Workshop

We’ve had a busy month of making mini crafts, now let’s give these cute things a place to call “home”! Bring the trinkets you’d like to display and let us help you make a custom trinket tray to display them in. Paint or modpodge your tray with our collection of paints and papers to make your trinket tray truly one of a kind.

Josh Adam Meyers Live Comedy

  • When: 7pm | 9pm
  • Where: Rose City Comedy, Tyler

1 part stand up comic, 1 part rock star, Josh brings comedy and music together with his signature high energy, raspy voice, and command of the stage; combining killer jokes with music, he is the best of both worlds. Everything in the club is part of the show; the staff, the audience, and you never know when a full rock band will join him on stage.

“Private Lives”

Ruck Hike for Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Awareness

  • When: 8am
  • Where: Abney Park Gilmer Texas

Join us for our first annual hike to bring awareness to mental health and suicide prevention. Registration will be at 8 am and hike will start at 9. We will have vendors set up in the park and food services. Registration includes a t-shirt and swag bag.

Keep Marshall Beautiful & Win BIG!

Garden Tour in Mineola

Mark your calendars for the Garden Tour on May 30! Four beautiful private gardens and educational demonstrations at Gray’s Nursery. Tickets are $10 and available for purchase at each location. No ticket sales after 1:30.

Archery 101

  • When: 9am-3pm
  • Where: Daingerfield State Park

Learn the basics of archery and practice your skills with a bow and arrow! Accessibility: Parking will be available at the Mountain View Restroom and Archery Range. Restroom available nearby. Drinking water is available outside restroom. Path to program is pavement and flat grass. Program Expectations: Program will go over the basics of archery (safety orientation and eye-dominance [15 minutes] and 11 steps to shooting success [30 minutes]). All equipment will be provided. Please do not bring your own! (Ages 6+ and Up)

Fiddle Zoo for Kids

  • When: 10am-11:30am
  • Where: Fine Arts at First Presbyterian Church of Tyler, Texas

Fiddle Zoo for Kids is a fun and exciting instrument petting zoo for children of all ages and their families. Come and go anytime from 10-11:30 am to enjoy music themed games and activities, orchestra storytime, a meet and greet with New Texas Sinfonia performers, and numerous live performances. Refreshments provided. FREE!

1st Annual Car & Motorcycle Charity Poker Run

  • When: 10:30am
  • Where: Red Rooster Icehouse, Hawkins

We are having a Car and Motorcycle Poker Run to raise money to outfit someone with a new prosthetic. 100% of the proceeds will benefit local amputees. There are five locations. Purchase a drink or food item at each location to receive a playing card. The participant with the best poker hand will win the grand prize. This year’s prize will be a bottle of 12 Year Rip Van Winkle. Approximate retail value of $1,000. There will be several door prizes, raffles, and silent auctions as well. Winners will be announced at the final location-TXM in Lindale. We will also announce the winner of this year’s gun raffle at the end of the Run.

May Madness Crappie Throwdown

903 Fishing has teamed up with the Boulders at Lake Tyler for his 4th tournament. This is 100% PAYOUT for crappie anglers competing in Livescope division and Non Livescope divisions. School’s Out Skate Jam

  • Where: Faulkner Park, Tyler

School’s Out Skate Jam at Faulkner Skatepark in Tyler, Texas on May 30th starting at 11 AM. Game of SKATE , Death Race & Best Trick Contest! $10 Entry Food trucks, snow cones, bounce house, and fingerboard park by Offhand Fingerboards! Fun for the entire family! This is a fundraising event to install lights at Faulkner Skatepark - Come out to support the local skate community and be a part of lighting the way for the next generation!

New Hope School Historical Marker Dedication

Free Film Premiere | The Neches River: Wild Heart of East Texas

Ellen Temple, producer, and Curtis Craven, director/cinematographer, invite all ages to join us for the premiere of their beautiful and moving PBS film The Neches River: Wild Heart of East Texas. The one hour long documentary will show for the first time at the Pines Theater in Lufkin on Sunday, May 31st, at 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm (doors open at 1:30 pm), followed by a 30 minute salute to the many East Texas folks who participated in the film!

Mini Book Rebinding
