Nacogdoches Summer Scavenger Hunt

Nacogdoches Summer Scavenger Hunt is a collaborative event between the historic and cultural arts sites of Nacogdoches to encourage visitors to explore Nacogdoches and for residents to be tourists in their town!

Junebug Summer Fair

Garage Sale @ Peoples Church

This garage sale fundraiser is being held to support the community outreach ministries of Peoples Church. All proceeds from the sale will go toward helping meet practical needs within our local community through various outreach efforts, events, and ministry opportunities. From serving families in need to supporting community engagement initiatives, every purchase made helps us continue being the hands and feet of Jesus in our area. Fish Tag Friend-zy

Where: Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center, Athens

This event is held on Texas Free Fishing Day, the first Saturday in June, and kicks off National Fishing and Boating Week. Grab a friend and fish for free all day! We will have a tagged catfish fishing event all day. Catch a tagged catfish and win a prize of your choice. Hourly drawings for summer pass packages as well! The event is for anglers of all ages, no fishing license required.

Become a Citizen Scientist

Where: Lake Tawakoni State Park, Wills Point

Discovery the incredible diversity of our ecosystems by using the iNaturalist app to identify species on a short hike. iNaturalist is a citizen science project that builds a database of species that helps scientists better understand our ecosystems and allow anyone to learn more about our environment.

Dutch Oven Cookin’

Welcome to the world of Dutch oven cooking — where anyone can master the art of creating delicious meals with just one pot and a little fire. There’s a place for everyone at the Dutch oven table!

Beeswax Candle Making

When: 10am-12pm
Where: Starr Family Home State Historic Site, Marshall

Step back in time and experience a traditional craft at the Starr Family Home! Join us on Saturday June 6th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM for hands-on beeswax candle dipping. Participants will learn the history and techniques of candle making while creating their own natural beeswax candles to take home. Cost is $5 per participant. Space may be limited, so arrive early to secure your spot!

First Saturday Guided Hike

Where: Caddo Mounds State Historic Site, Alto

This guided walk explores the landscape, history, and archaeology of the site. We’ll discuss how the ancestral Hasinai Caddo shaped this place and how the natural environment connects to its past.

Summer Artisan Market

Local woodcarving and wood burning artisans compete in this annual show. The public is invited to this free show. Vendors are open for the duration of the show. This year stained glass and mosaic artists will also have a showcase area.

Once-married Elyot (Jamie Couch) and Amanda (Roz Couch) cross paths unexpectedly while honeymooning on the French Riviera with their respective new spouses Sybil (Ashley Schmidt) and Victor (Riley Nichols). Join our stylists for a fun, hands-on class where you’ll learn a new braid or hairstyle alongside your child! Enjoy quality bonding time while gaining skills you can recreate at home again and again. Each class will be led by one stylist who will guide participants step-by-step, while a second stylist will be available to provide individual assistance as needed. To ensure a personalized experience, class sizes are limited to 7 children and 7 adults.

Join us on the first Sunday of each month for good food, great company, and a little friendly competition! Bring a dish to share—or just bring yourself—and we’ll handle the rest. After dinner, teams will form and the trivia fun begins!
