When the summer heat takes over the Lone Star State, there's one East Texas business you'll want to head outside for!
If you’ve spent some time in East Texas, you have probably heard about Blueberry Hill Farms in Edom, so we decided to travel the back roads to check out what the hype was all about.
Blueberry Hill Farms is a family owned farm filled acres of blueberries (and blackberries) ready for the public to pick themselves. All you need to do is head into their Country Store, pick up a basket, and then get to pickin’. You can walk the rows of bushes alone, or with your family, and fill your basket with whatever you want to take home. Then when you’re finished, you’ll head back into the country store and pay for your berries based on their weight. That’s it!
You can also stroll around the country store and sample some of their delicious preserves and jams. They also have a bakery filled with blueberry pies, blueberry muffins, blueberry turnovers and our favorite — blueberry donuts!
Owners Chuck and Sherri Arena only have one request: visit their website before you go and check out their pickin’ scale. Every day they update their website with a number 1 – 10 with 10 being the best time to pick. You can check out their latest update here.
