Downtown Tyler is gearing up for it’s first Urban Market

Plaza Tower, on Tyler’s Downtown Square, continues to expand and as a part of this renovation, Café 1948 and Plaza Tower have announced plans to establish downtown’s first Urban Market on the ground floor of the building.

Earlier this year, Café 1948 created a semi-permanent location at Plaza Tower, relocating their silver trailer in the lobby of the building. Owners Samuel and Amber
Richmann commented, “For almost two years we have been planning this expansion with late nights and long days spent planning menus and designing spaces.”

When asked about the Urban Market, the owners state that coffee, juice, smoothies and food will remain at the heart of their offerings, adding, “It’s about wellness of our bodies and our days as we help grow a vibrant downtown community.”

Plaza Tower co-owner, Garnett Brookshire expressed, “Café 1948 has already created a place where people can gather with friends or business associates over a cup of
coffee or a sandwich. We look forward to their expansion in early 2020 to include the Urban Market in Plaza Tower.”

Plaza Tower was purchased in August, 2018 by a real estate investor group led by Tim Brookshire, Garnett Brookshire, and Andy Bergfeld. Renovations include retail and
office space in the area that was formerly the Bank of America Lobby.

Plaza Tower offers Class A office space with on-site management, leasing and maintenance staff; advanced security and elevators; on-site vault datacenter; and,
fiber installed throughout.
