All things grow with love on the East Texas Flower Truck!
East Texas Flower Truck is a mobile flower truck that travels all over East Texas.
The entire mobile flower truck began in September of 2018 after Alex Gibson and her husband moved from Missouri to East Texas.
“So I used to actually be a teacher then we moved to East Texas and I had just been thinking that I kind of wanted to do something different and something fun,” said Alex Gibson, owner of East Texas Flower Truck. “And I just think it was really a God thing that got placed on my heart and I just prayed through it and talked to my husband about it and he was like, ‘Let’s go for it!’”
I believe flowers have the power to bring people joy. My saying is “you can never go wrong with flowers.” – Alex Gibson, Owner
So Gibson and her husband bought a Japanese mini-truck and made it into the present day East Texas Flower Truck. You can read more about their story on their website.
“[The East Texas Flower Truck] pops up at different businesses, events, wedding, private parties over East Texas,” said Gibson. “And people can come build their own flower bouquet, and each flower is priced per stem and people can pick out what they like and make something of their own.”
The schedule for East Texas Flower Truck is posted every Sunday on their Facebook page, so that’s the best way to track them. And every Wednesday Gibson is traveling over East Texas doing custom deliveries. To shop for a bouquet click here. Gibson gets her flowers from both local flower farms and wholesale florists, so her varieties change with the seasons. And with the flower truck you can make your bouquet as simple or as extravagant as you want.
And if you don’t want to make your own bouquet but still want one, Gibson will make a bouquet for you.
“I usually ask them for a price range anywhere between $5 dollars and up then I just build something for them that I think they like and hopefully enjoy,” said Gibson. “So I usually ask, ‘Do you want something specific in your bouquet?” and we go from there.”
It is so much fun to meet new people and see them put together a bouquet that they love. I hope you get to visit the little truck soon for your very own flower bouquet!
Gibson describes East Texas Flower Truck as a laid-back and fun experience that’s different from anything in the area.
“I have the phrase ‘Sunshine on a Stem’ on my truck so it’s just a bright, happy, laid-back experience for people to be creative,” said Gibson.
“I’m not a huge risk taker, but I have not regretted a second of [this],” said Gibson. “I’ve loved every minute of this business!”
