Chick-fil-A is testing a new side item in East Texas

Kale Crunch Side

Chick-fil-A customers in Tyler and Longview are among the first to try a new menu item Chick-fil-A is testing this spring.

The new Kale Crunch Side features a blend of curly kale and green cabbage, tossed in an Apple Dijon Dressing and topped off with salted, crunchy almonds.

At 110 calories for a small portion with toppings, Kale Crunch Side is a great option for those looking for a lighter entree pairing or snack on-the-go. And it’s vegan & vegetarian approved.

“We are thrilled to introduce the Kale Crunch Side to our guests looking for a healthier side alternative that is still convenient,” said Leslie Neslage, menu lead for the menu and packaging team at Chick-fil-A. “We look forward to hearing what customers in our test markets think of this new menu item!”

Participating East Texas locations are: East Longview, Broadway Crossing in Tyler, Highlands Village Shopping Center, South Loop Crossing, West Longview, Nacogdoches, Broadway Square Mall, Lufkin Mall, Longview Mall.

In addition to East Texas, the new menu item is being tested at participating Chick-fil-A restaurants in Orlando, Daytona, Space Coast and Gainesville, Florida, and Eastern Iowa.

Customers in these markets will help the company decide whether to make Kale Crunch Side available as a permanent menu item at all restaurants in the future.

Following the test, Chick-fil-A will evaluate customer feedback to determine if Kale Crunch Side will be added to menus nationwide in the future.
