Kilgore College looks to put a bit of a scare into visitors during their second annual “Kil-GORE Horror Movie Festival” from Oct. 26-31 in Dodson Auditorium on the Kilgore campus.
A movie will be shown each day of the festival at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee set for 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 31.
Earlier this month, votes were cast for which movies would be played, and now the schedule is set.
“We feel like Halloween movies offer a little something for everybody and the diversity of movies that get the most votes should reflect that,” said Ethan Herring, Dodson Auditorium Manager. “The main goal is to create a fun environment for our students and the community to sit and enjoy the movies.”
Here’s what will be showing:
Monday, October 26: Alien
Tuesday, October 27: Us
Wednesday, October 28: Ghostbusters
Thursday, October 29: Jaws
Friday, October 30: IT Chapter one
Saturday, October 31 (2 p.m.): Friday the 13th
Saturday, October 31 (7:30 p.m.): Halloween (2018)
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing guidelines will be administered and face coverings are required. And if you still want to participate but don’t want to physically attend there are options. For movies that have a streaming option, it will cost $5 for a single access online link.
- For Kilgore College students, admission is $10 for a week’s pass (seven films) with single movie passes available for $2.
- Non-Kilgore College student admission is $20 for a week’s pass and $4 for a single film.
Attendees who bring a donation for the KC Student Food Pantry will receive a single movie pass.
Kilgore College’s Dodson Auditorium is located at 817 Nolen Street in Kilgore.
