Fans of mac and cheese can now get a scoop of the comfort food dish in ice cream form.
Yes, you read that right.
Kraft announced that it’s launching a limited-edition mac and cheese ice cream, just in time for National Macaroni and Cheese Day on July 14.
For the new item, the company partners with Brooklyn-based Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, the cult-favorite brand known for making decadent and delicious ice cream and vegan ice cream with just a few ingredients.
To create the cool, creamy treat, Van Leeuwen says it churned the familiar, cheesiness of the iconic Kraft macaroni and cheese brand into their ice cream made with no artificial flavors, preservatives or dyes.
“We know that there is nothing more refreshing on a hot summer day than ice cream,” Emily Violett, senior associate brand manager for Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, said in a statement. “That is why we wanted to combine two of the most iconic comfort foods to create an ice cream with the unforgettable flavor of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese we all grew up with.”
The Kraft Macaroni & Cheese ice cream will be available online for $12 per pint at vanleeuwenicecream.com, while supplies last, starting at 10 a.m. CST on July 14. The limited-edition flavor will also be available at all Van Leeuwen stores across the country (NYC, LA & Houston) starting July 14 while supplies last.
