Randy brings over 35 years of experience to the team!
Jake’s Feed and Animal Center in Longview offers everything you need for your animals ranging from horse supplements to cat food to dog shampoo. They also carry seasonal products in their lawn and garden department, so it’s a one-stop-shop for all things outdoors.
And in July 2019, they added their newest team member, Randy Reeves. Reeves is a former AgriLife Extension Agent for Gregg County, and has shared his expertise with East Texas for over 35 years.
Instead of retirement, Reeves will be at Jake’s Feed to bring you tips, tricks and advice whether it’s for lawn maintenance, garden problems, questions about new (or old) products on the shelves or concerns about your soil.
“I was a county agent for 35 and a half years and I’ve been around this for a long time,” said Reeves. “A lot of the chemicals and formulations [with outdoor products] have changed, but it’s still basically the same diseases and insects and problems. So I can help with advice on how to correct certain issues that you may be having.”
And whether you have a single potted plant, or 100+ acres to tend, Reeves along with the team at Jake’s Feed have the tools to help you with whatever problems, concerns, or goals you have.
“We can help from one extreme to the other, because fundamentally they’re the same, just on a different scale,” said Reeves.
And don’t forget that Jake’s is so much more than a feed store.
“We have everything from lawn and garden all the way up to animal care,” said Reeves. “From guinea pigs up to horses. We can help with your nutritional needs, fertility needs. Then for lawn and garden, herbicide use, chemicals for insect control, disease problems, all of it.”
Jake’s Feed also offers full-service dog grooming for dogs 4+ months with rabies vaccinations. You can learn more about that here.
Jake’s Feed is located at 3612 McCann Road in Longview.
Their regular store hours are 8 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Monday – Saturday.
