Step Back in Time at Millard’s Crossing Historic Village

One historic village in East Texas takes locals and tourists back in time.

Nacogdoches is the oldest town in Texas, so it makes sense it’s home to some of the oldest buildings and homes, too! Nestled inside the city is Millard’s Crossing Historic Village. It’s a charming, reconstructed historic village filled with original and authentic East Texas architecture. All of the buildings in the village were moved from their original sites and restored by Lera Millard Thomas, a Nacogdoches native and Texas preservationist. She created the village in an effort to preserve and display early buildings, antiques, tools and memorabilia that are part of the cultural heritage of Texas.

Tours at the village are interactive, fun and extremely informative. Whether you’re 9 or 99 there’s something to take away from this experience. For a guided tour it’s $10 for adults and $5 for children. If you want to take a self-guided walking tour it’s $4. The village is open from Mondays to Saturday from 9am – 4pm, and 1pm to 4pm on Sunday.
