The City of Whitehouse will soon be getting a Chicken Express.

The new drive-thru will take over the 2,800-square-foot building where the former Burger King was at 406 State Highway 110 North.

Chicken Express serves fried chicken, catfish, chicken tenders and side dishes. The chain is also known for its delicious, sweet iced tea, which it sells by the gallon. Chicken Express is headquartered in Burleson, Texas, and has over 200 locations in Texas, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana and Oklahoma.

The space was purchased by The Connel Group which is an Arlington, Texas-based company that currently operates two Chicken Express locations.

They say they’ll immediately begin the building’s renovation, and hope to celebrate the grand-opening of the new Chicken Express by May or June of 2020.
