Junior Engineer Days

This event is part of the ongoing Junior Engineer Days! The Nacogdoches Railroad Depot will have crafts, games, story time with the Nacogdoches Public Library, coloring, free play and light refreshments. All activities are free!

Cash and Cline Country Royalty

Take a journey back to experience classic Country Music. “CASH & CLINE…COUNTRY ROYALTY” brings together a tribute to two of the most influential and legendary artists of all time, Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline! Bennie Wheels, with his easy going nature, deep bass-baritone vocals and commanding stage presence, brings back the image and spirit of The Man In Black in his Folsom Prison prime!

Back to the Field Event

For over five years, Miller’s Point has sought to meet the needs of outdoor enthusiasts in East Texas by providing top notch apparel and gear to take any man from the office to the field. On August 23 they will host its first ever Back to the Field Party. Complimentary appetizers and beverages will be available and they have partnered with brands that align with their vision to bring East Texans everything they need, in one place, to be ready for hunting season. ETX Brewery will be in attendance with craft beer and Villagio Del Vino will be providing game based appetizers. Live music by Brian Chance will keep attendees entertained throughout the night.

CASA Give Back Night

Dine with Kawa’s to make every meal a meaningful one. Let your server know your are there to support CASA and they will donate 10 % of all proceed that night to support CASA!

Dog Days of Summer Dog Show

The Autumn Wind Assisted Living Center’s yearly dog show is planned for Thursday, August 23rd at 6:00 PM. Bring your pooch and join them for a grand time!

Bingo Night

  • When: 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • Where: Moore’s Store, Ben Wheeler
  • Cost: $3 per card (there’s 6 games, so $18 total)

Moore’s Store is hosting Bingo Night to benefit one of their own Moore’s Store family members, Courtney Goggans! Her goal is to raise $10,000 for her discipleship in Hawaii! Bingo winners get half the pot and a Moore’s Store gift card! There will be 6 games at $3 a card and general donations will be accepted.

Dog Show and BBQ

On August 24th Arabella of Kilgore is having their annual Dog Show! In the morning they will have a dog party for all of their resident dogs and any residents that want to come. They will be collecting blankets and food for the local animal shelter. Join them for BBQ at lunch!:

Bella Stella Wine Tasting

Enjoy a complimentary wine tasting at Southern Ground Bottling Company. You will have the chance to try East Texas’ Bella Serra wines.

Glow Yoga

Pioneer Days at Millard’s Crossing

It’s another fun day at the village! The whole crew will be in costume with lots of activities to see and participate in. Ms. Bonnie will be cooking over the fire, Blacksmith Trey will be hard at work, Teacher Roz will be serving out those hard school lessons and other volunteers will be making paper, spinning on vintage spinning wheels and much more. Go and check out what life was like in the Lone Star State 100 years ago.  Check out our adventure at Millard’s Crossing.

Passport Fair

The Post Office will be hosting a passport fair at the Library to allow more people to get a new passport. Skip the lines at the Post Office and get your Passport when you pick up your books!

Family Day at the Texas Forestry Museum

Grab your family and help celebrate Timber, the museum mascot’s, birthday. There will be crafts, games, cake, and a bouncy house! Timber Raccoon, Smokey Bear, Leo the Lion and Chef Marco will make a special appearance.

Bring your puppy to our Patio every Saturday morning for Brunch and receive a FREE Mimosa!

The Throwaway Children: An Original Play About Human Trafficking

The Throwaway Children was divinely inspired to bring awareness to the depravity and suffering of human trafficking and the radical, enduring mercy of God. All proceeds from this production will be donated to Refuge of Light to provide financial assistance toward their general operating costs. The lobby will open thirty minutes prior to each curtain. Show times are 2:30PM and 7:30PM. Snacks & Drinks will be available. This production is appropriate for children ages ten and older.

19th Annual Taste of East Texas

The 19th Annual Taste of East Texas will be here soon! Come sample delicious cuisine from area restaurants while enjoying entertainment from Dale Cummings as he performs our favorite oldies. Our Live and Silent Auctions will contain several great items as well! Hope to see you there!

Love Succs at Maklemore’s

Maklemore’s is hosting a potting party on Saturday. Tickets are $55 a person and that gets you a beer token for a pint of beer, a choice of your planter, succulents, soil and instructions on how to plant them and care for them.

Salvation Animal Rescue’s Pour 4 Paws

The Salvation Animal Rescue’s inaugural ‘Pour 4 Paws’ event will have a raffle, silent auction and live entertainment. All proceeds from the event will go towards rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals in the Lufkin community, as well as the S.N.I.P.S (Spay/Neuter is a Positive Solution) program. Doors open at 6:00 and this is a ‘drop-in’ casual event. Each attendee will receive a souvenir wine glass to use for tasting. *THIS IS A 21+ HUMANS ONLY EVENT.

Card 53 Comedy

Card 53 Comedy brings their unique style of improv “makemups” back to the stage of Liberty Hall. They are excited to create for you an experience like no other in Tyler, made up entirely on the spot based off your suggestions.

Disclaimer: Card 53 strives each show to be what they consider “clean-ish” however due to the unpredictable nature of improv they risk embarrassing their wives, girlfriends, dogs, employers, and total strangers with their unique style of improv makem-ups.

Poetry, Spoken Word & Prayer

Join author and playwright, William Owens as he hosts a weekly performing arts poetry, spoken word and prayer meeting in Tyler. It’s all about the Word of God being expressed through poetic expressions and improv spoken word! The purpose of this weekly event is to inspire, encourage and edify people in the love of God and towards each other. Be sure to secure you ticket this venue has limited seating.

Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights w/ Tanner Miller

TXM Sunday’s welcomes Janathan Tyler & The Northern Lights w/ Tanner Miller. Advance General Admission tickets are $15.

Casting Call for Kadie Lynn’s Music Video

Nationally known Nashville singer/songwriter, Kadie Lynn, a finalist from America’s Got Talent, is coming to The Henderson County Performing Arts Center in Athens, Texas to shoot a part in her upcoming national music video. Volunteer actors who would like to dress up and appear in the video are invited to apply.  The video will require men, women and children to portray audience members of a 1950’s or early 60’s studio audience of a live television show. Actors will be in theater seating with only their heads and torsos visible. All participants will need to provide clothes and show up with their hair styled to fit the time frame. Select applicants may be chosen for other feature parts as well.
